Winter Springs Commissioner Joanne Krebs endorses Karen Diebel

Former Vice-Mayor and current Winter Springs Commissioner Joanne Krebs endorses Karen Diebel for Congress in Florida’s 24th District.

Krebs cited Diebel’s understanding of the drain that federal government mandates place on local governing boards.

“Local government is the last line of defense for residents. Eventually all problems come down to a local solution. Yet the federal government in Washington constantly meddles in local issues. It increases costs and taxes,” Krebs said.

Diebel pointed to the wasteful practice of Washington earmarks as a good place to start to cut spending.

“We should not be sending more of our tax dollars to Washington only to get one third back as some sort of earmark for a project in our community,” Diebel said.

“Let local communities keep their tax dollars locally. If the community decides that a certain worthwhile project is necessary it can be funded locally without losing the two thirds that Washington takes.

That’s a real saving. It’s good government. It’s common sense,” Diebel said.
